14x18 Digital Print (Procreate Painting App on IPAD Air using Pencil 53 stylus
Description of artwork:
I was invited to join a group of artists on a plein air painting trip to Sheffield Island in Norwalk, CT, on Long Island Sound. This is a very picturesque park, accessible by ferry and includes a working lighthouse which the public can tour.I scouted a few locations to paint and settled on a rowboat sitting on the ground with the name "S.S. Sheffield" painted on the side.
Most of the artwork I create is studio-based and I didn't have a french easel or other portable means to hold a canvas. What I did have was my iPad Air and a Pencil 53 stylus. Working in the Procreate painting app, I sketched out the scene and laid in basic colors. We only had about 2 hours on the island due to the ferry schedule so I took a couple shots so I could finish the painting back in my studio.
